Congratulations to the WHS Blue Blazes Marching Band! Their performance on Saturday at the Maine State Finals at Sanford High School earned another season of “Gold!” The WHS marching band and color guard earned perfect 5’s in all graded categories, and therefore they took home the gold medal. Also, congratulations to Band Director Kyle Smith. He was selected by an editorial committee from School Band & Orchestra Plus Magazine, or SBO+, to be featured in their 50 Band Directors Who Make a Difference issue, coming out in December. SBO+ is the premier magazine for music educators. As the title indicates, Kyle is one of 50 band directors, only one from each state, to be selected for this recognition. What a huge honor!
