Westbrook School Department

Westbrook's Director of Music Suzanne Proulx was honored by the Maine Music Educators' Association as the 2024 Outstanding Administrator. Ms. Proulx has led the Westbrook Music Department since 2016, providing leadership and guidance to staff, students, and our gold standard music programming. She has mentored new teachers in the department, helped the programs rebound after the pandemic, and expanded our repertoire in both choral and instrumental music. She is involved throughout the state, participating in and hosting festivals including All State and District Festivals. She continues to direct our choral programs at WHS and offers elective courses in music. Throughout her career as a teacher and leader, Sue has been an advocate for arts education. A talented singer herself, she is involved in different groups, directs area choirs, and makes strong connections with the community. Brava Ms. Proulx!
