Westbrook School Department

CONGRATULATIONS to Beth Murphy who has been hired as the Interim Director of Athletics and Activities at Westbrook High School. She succeeds Blair Marelli who resigned earlier this summer. Mrs. Murphy is well known in Westbrook and throughout the state. She has been a Physical Education teacher at WHS for 34 years, has coached numerous teams over the years, including Field Hockey, has been involved in countless events, and was recognized at Teacher of the Year at WHS in 2022. Mrs. Murphy is excited to begin this new role, although she will miss teaching classes every day. She will, however, continue to be involved with students across the school and  hopes to increase participation in athletics and activities this year. She also plans to work with Mr. Connolly and the staff at WMS to encourage student involvement which will help build strong programs across the district.
