Westbrook School Department

Our opening days have been busy ones this week! Our staff participated in workshop days on Monday and Tuesday which included the annual Back to School District Gathering featuring guest speaker Dr. Jill Siler, author of Thrive Through the Five. WMS Grade 5, the three elementary schools, and WRVC hosted open houses this week, welcoming families back into school for the first time in over two years. Other schools' open houses will be later this month. Students began arriving on Wednesday and Thursday with lots of smiles and great energy.  Students were reading, writing, holding class meetings, reviewing expectations, practicing cafeteria conduct, playing games, having conversations, and  holding class meetings. Kindergarteners were here for a short while on Thursday for a practice bus ride and a visit to their classrooms with their families; they begin school on Tuesday. THANK YOU to our always amazing staff, students, and families for a wonderful opening filled with lots of joy!
