Westbrook Middle School proudly shares our Wall of Flags, which we describe to our students as we kick off our school year. Students and staff enjoy a beautiful place to come to school everyday - but it's not just the building itself that is beautiful, it’s much greater than that. As you enter our building, you may notice all the flags hanging in our lobby.
Of the 42 flags raised in the lobby, 34 of them represent the birthplace, or country of origin, of current students and staff at WMS. These flags share a part of our identity as a school and as individuals. At WMS, we celebrate the richness of our diversity, we celebrate each and every member of our school’s community, and honor all our differences.
This year, we celebrate our roots from the following countries: Afghanistan, Angola, Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, Burundi, Cameroon, Cambodia, Cote d'Ivoire, the Congo, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Gabon, Guatemala, Guinea, Honduras, India, Italy, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, Myanmar, Nigeria, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sudan, Syria, United States, Venezuela, and Vietnam.
